About orienteering… A sport that can be discovered only by who has the curiosity to go in the middle of the forest with a map and a compass in his hand.
For the first time since I practice orienteering, a contest took place exactly on my birthday , having a beautiful weather , with a temperature of 5 degrees , unusual in December, when snow should have already covering the ground. And what more I could want for my birthday , but run in the competition , not just any type, but a Skore stage .
In choosing the route between controls I have taken into account my preparation and physical condition, so that I would not have to climb too much to final part due to fatigue , so in conclusion I aimed to take the hill in the chest as early in then running as possible, so all to be easy and pleasant .
I hesitated at control 14 , where I lost a minute, but did not really have what to do with it anyway. I adjusted the route throughout all the route depending on the time remaining for 50 minutes (this was time given for my category ) and the result turned out to be just fine as I was the winner occupying first place.
Sunday, September 27 , in the Regina Maria Park, in a small circle, it was organized Memorial prof . Costica Petrisor .
I runned the first 7 controls with good speed, felt tired climbing towards 8, control 10 was placed a few meters to the right , and the latest controls have exhausted all my energy .
At the end of the award ceremony , Denisa served us with one piece of cake, a cake which I appreciated much due to great special design.

Saturday took place 40theditionofSkoreCupcompetition, atraditionalcompetitionwith certainspecial rules that arevery interesting. Armed with40 minutes, anda polygonof controls,had totry tocollectas manycontrols as possible withoutexceeding the time, because foranytimeexceedingexists a penalty, and how much greaterisovercomingthe moreharshpenalty was. Items10 to19worth1 point each, the20to 29,by 2points, those from 30-39by 3pointsand controls 60 and 61 were notinstalled. Belowyou can seethe version thatI choseandImade19 points. I wasthe only one thatI choseto goin the direction ofthe station26andthe base of the decisionwasthatIfeltready totakethe hillin the chestwhen I was not tired, and in return, depending on the timeleft, tocollectitems whicharemore manageable.I lost3 minutes atstation21, where I haddoubts aboutthe positionof(and as seeningps line was positioneda littlefurther southonlevel) and at thelast control100 I do not know whatI hadinmindand tookintomakingthe wrong directionmaking about 100mfurther, and almostto make me toexceedthe time limit.
The first stageof the competitionhadstartedright next tothe treewhere is told that Rakoczi hadtied his horse. I started the route with disbelief,not understandingwhythere was no needfora station‘CHECK’ and one‘START’. NowI learn (and I will rememberit) thatthemost of big sprint competitions do not use it. Aftercompleting the course,Ifound thatI couldmakebetterchoicesfor Item 4andthe control 5, boththrough the top. Atstation7 Ihad a littlehesitationand I gota little higher, but besidesthosementioned before,my overall time increased because of my running speed(sigh).

Avery good ideaof theorganizers wasto make available tocompetitorsa smallmazethatyou couldoccupyyourtime with until the nextstart.I acceptedSamir’s challange to have one route with a mapwithoutcodes. UnfortunatelyI lost theprovocation, with a hesitationtostation6.Map with thismazeI have returned itlater.
After lunch,there wasa secondstage. Ihoped to be better thaninthe morningstage, but I hadnotablemistakes. Imanaged towatchfrom the startthat wasan alley, butwhen I ranit looked more like atrail, so I missedthe very firstcontrol. Iarrivedatconrol 6upperthanI anticipated, andI hesitatedtocontrol9.

In stage3,thelong distance, it was a little unpleasant that I leftthetrackquite late. I had noideawhatthe symbolof the firstcontrol was, and I thoughtthe first timeit’s kindofpeak (relative tothe conventionaldescription). It was actuallya pole, which otherwiseI wouldhave represented it asablackX. The followingcontrols have not raisedanyissueuntil thecontrol 5.I saw ahunting place,whichconfused meandmade methink Ideviatedquite a lotfrom the route. The sign was actualyvery close tothe path, and awayI could notsee itvery well. At Item 6I had ahesitation, just as I didincontrol11, where I gota little moreto the right.
Starting with control 4I gota ladywho hasadjustedvariantsbased on mefor the followingsections, which I do not like at all. I neveragreedthis, andas a result,I decidedto changemy equipmentin the futurewitha lessvisible onein the woods

On election day, I traveled toClujfor aspecial stage: one manrelay. I startedon the firstloopand gotno problemsrunningtowards control 33.I continuedtosecond control,withone route bythe end ofthe valleys. The followingitemshave not beena major challenge,only at running(from thelast section:)).I also startedto noticetheredmark. Itwas presentinall sectionsincluding in thesecondloop, only withsmallinterruptions.Because I alreadyrun 5km andmarkingwasreallyaspoiler(ex. hole with redmarkabove), I gave uprunning the lastloopof the route.Belowmapsand a fewsnapshotsfrom the event.
