Cupa Eger 29-30.10.2011 - Ungaria (Orientare)

Eger Cup 29-30.10.2011 – Hungary

After about 10 years, I attended the Eger Cup again. Curiosity was raised by the fact that a part of the route will be underground, and I don’t regret that I decided to make the trip.
City stage was beautiful. Although the start was delayed by 30 minutes, when I began the route I even forgot bout it. I made no mistake, everything went perfectly, and the underground was extremely interesting.

The second stage started in a completely different way. I was really disappointed to get to start and see that the start was re-scheduled an hour before (I missed the start and I got a new minute). Thus, when I left, the forest was already empty … I made the route OK, and I mistaken only at control 6, which in my opinion, was not very well represented on the map. The area was physically demanding, which is reflected in the time made.

Overall, from my point of view, the competition was good, but moving the start with 1h BEFORE, in a manner that the notice didn’t reach everyone, will be a thing that I will remember for sure…

Cupa Postas 09-10.04.2011 – Pilisszentlélek (Ungaria)

Postas Cup 09-10.04.2011 – Pilisszentlélek (Hungary)

Although it passed long time from the competition, I can remember the effort I put on the two routes. Perhaps that if would have existed the 21A category, I would not be enrolled in 21E, but its absence and the small length from the 21B (less than 5km), led me to subscribe to this category in order to take full advantage of the forest and the trails.
I didn’t get tired by the length, but the fallen branches that made running difficult.
Beautiful forest (it was a reservation after all: P) and interesting routes which challenged me both physically and technical, have contributed greatly to the success of competition from my point of view.
Below are the maps of the two days of competition.

Juniper Open Spring 27.02.2011 - Tazlar(Hungary)

Juniper Open Spring 26.02.2011 – Tazlar(Hungary)

Although my participation in this competition was under question, because of planning the travel to the place where the competition was held, in the end I had the pleasure of taking part in Juniper Open. I say pleasure because it really was. I haven’t ran on such a demanding map since Croatia Open in 2010, and the challenges the land raised were very interesting. The map was technical, and in the first day, I have made lots of mistakes, both because of distance, and because of orienteering (some of them so silly mistakes), especially due to lack of technical training. From my point of view the competition was successful: the map was technical, had demanding routes, the area was interesting, and vegetation that has not grown properly yet, sometimes was more confusing than helpful.

Below are maps that I ran:
