During the past weekend, despite recommendations to stay home, especially because that I had to start a tiresome road next week, I could not resist and I attended the Golden Compass Cup. Of course, as expected, I wasn’t disappointed with this edition.
The first day I did the route without notable mistakes, only a small hesitation when I went from the second control the wrong direction, but I very quickly restored. Time was excellent for running, acceptable distance for my training, and the second place I obtained made me change my mind and compete in the second stage, too.
The next day, in the same area, the second phase took place. Nature has added a new factor that influenced running very much: mud. Paths were less passable, and the choice between my third control and the forth proved to be extremely uninspired. Issue guidance between items 9-16 were a delight and the cherry on the cake was the last section 16-17, where with my last resources I had to climb against the wind. Effort here exhausted me and I made a stupid mistake in 18th control where I went right around him, and only the
second attempt was successful. Therefore, the section was covered in 5 minutes: D However I’ve got revenge on the finnish where I did the best time (although I wasn’t the only one) with 13 seconds
If I draw the line and count, it looks like this: a competition with a technical route and a hopeful end which is the result of consistent training successfully coordinated by Mr. Racz:)
